Close Knit is the friendly neighborhood knitting and crochet shop located in the heart of Northeast Portland in the Alberta Arts District.

Close Knit features Bumblebirch, Lakes Yarn, Knitted Wit, Ruby Peak Farms Jacob, Sincere Sheep, Shibui, Holst Garn, Harrisville, Friea, Fiber Company, Blue Sky Alpacas, Spud and Chloe, Noro, Cascade, Berocco, Plymouth, Rowan and so much more!

The shop hosts two events weekly for our knitting and crochet neighborhood: “Knitting and Cocktails” on Monday nights from 8-10pm at our neighbors “Cruzroom” and “Open Knit Night” at Close Knit Wednesday evening from 6-9 pm.

2016 Events

Thursday-Sunday, March 3-6
-Our first purchasing customers of each day will receive exciting door prizes!
-On display every day of the Crawl we will feature the fall/winter Shibui trunk show with all the garments for the new Shibui spring yarn…Rain. These elegant garments and yarn are sure to impress.
-Blue Sky Alpacas winter collection trunk show.
-The Spud and Chloe trunk show will be at Close Knit featuring adorable baby knits. You will want to knit for every baby you know!
-We are also pleased to show off the Harrisville trunk show with all their heirloom quality garments and accessories featuring Watershed, Flywheel, and new yarn, Turbine.

Thursday, March 3
10-6 Close Knit will host Brook Sinnes, the Napa based natural dye artist of Sincere Sheep. We sincerely love her inspiring yarn!
10-6 Local Portland designer, Lisa Carney-Fenton, will be showing off her lovely designs featuring shop yarns.

Friday, March 4
10-6 Ami Volz of Lake Yarns and Fiber is visiting from the Mountains of Northern Idaho. Ami puts great care in the subtle, unique colors of her yarn. Our RCYC knitted shop pattern uses Lakes Yarn.
10-2 Our friend, Kate Barrett from Lostine Oregon, which is located at the base of the Wallowa Mountains of Northeast Oregon, will be here to show off her yarn from her Jacob sheep herd. The love and pride of her sheep shines through in her “all Oregon” yarn. This wool has never left the state!

Saturday, March 5
3-6 Kate Barrett from Ruby Peak is back for the afternoon if you missed her Friday!
10-4 Bumblebirch yarns trunk show! We love Sarah Kurth and her Portland yarn creations.

Sunday, March 6
10-4 Sarah is back for a second day to show off Bumblebirch yarns.
