Pearl Fiber Arts specializes in quality yarns and fibers from the Northwest and beyond. Come see our wall of locally-dyed yarns! If you spin or create felted items, you’ll find a selection of hand-dyed fibers as well as a variety of fiber types that can be purchased by the ounce. We have a variety of locally-made accessories as well, including Shaker boxes for your work in progress, drop spindles and Lazy Kates for spinners, and beautiful wooden US35 and US50 knitting needles and size S crochet hooks that pair well with Chunky Stitch Alpaca and Wrapped in Luxury Merino from Caress Luxury Yarns.

In addition to local products, we’re proud to be Portland’s exclusive source for yarns from Mountain Meadow Wool in Wyoming and Wooly Worsted Washable from Ewe Ewe Yarns in California. You’ll also find Portland’s largest selection of Shepherd’s Wool from Stonehedge Fiber Mill in Michigan, and so much more!

Rose City Yarn Crawl Events:

  • Thursday, February 28th – Sunday, March 3rd:
    • Alexandra’s Crafts Trunk Show: A stunning array of colorful yarn and fiber will be on hand from Alexandra’s Crafts all four days of the crawl. Alexandra herself will be in the shop on Friday and Saturday, so come and meet the dyer! In addition to the yarns we always carry from Alexandra, she’s introducing a brand new worsted weight yarn that is perfect for lots of different projects. Alexandra’s colors are vibrant and unique. We’ll have everything from sock yarn to thick-and-thin bulky weights. The hard part is picking which color to add to your stash!
    • Caress Luxury Yarns Trunk Show: We will also have a large selection of yarn and fiber from Caress Luxury Yarns in Albany, Oregon. Owner Ingrid Reimers bought her very own mini-mill last summer and is now turning out some amazing yarn. She’ll have some great new Alpaca/Merino blended yarn in a variety of fresh, spring colors. And if you love the look of super-duper chunky yarns frequently seen on the fashion runways the last couple of years, you’ll want to check out the Chunky Stitch Alpaca and Wrapped in Luxury Merino. What do you use to knit these big, beautiful yarns? Well, how about some big, beautiful needles and hooks made in Tualatin? We’ll have a selection of them in US35 and US50 for knitting and size S for crochet (maybe some other sizes, too). These aren’t just needles and hooks, they’re beautiful, functional art pieces.
    • Bumblebirch Trunk Show: Sarah from Bumblebirch yarns is bringing us a fresh supply of her popular sock yarns in time for the crawl, too. Bumblebirch colors are semisolid and inspired by nature. Sarah’s yarns are unique in our lineup because she doesn’t use acid-based dyes. With a toddler in the house, she feels much more comfortable using food-grade dyes most commonly used to color icing for cakes! Bumblebirch yarns tend to sell out quickly, so shop early in the crawl for best selection.
  • Thursday, February 28th & Friday, March 1st: Meet Alexandra: Alexandra herself (of Alexandra’s Crafts) will be in the shop on Friday and Saturday, so come and meet the dyer!
