2016 Mystery Along Designers

The 2016 Mystery Along design teams have been selected, and we are all in for a treat! Here’s who’ll be creating two unique, “Oregon Grows Great Things“-inspired designs for you to enjoy.

Based on feedback from last year’s knitters and crocheters, we’ve challenged our designers to move beyond shawlette shapes for this year’s Mystery Along projects. Have we piqued your curiosity?!

Mystery Along sales begin December 5th, with the first of 4 clues coming your way January 27, 2016.

Mystery Knit Along Design Team: Larissa Brown & Michelle Kroll

Larissa Brown and Michelle KrollLarissa & Michelle are Portland designers and friends who have a combined 20 years of experience creating designs for magazines, books, yarn shops and independent publication.

Michelle has taught lace knitting to knitters of all skill levels in local yarn shops. She’s currently a fiber artist, Managing Editor of Knit Edge magazine, and a printmaker whose prints have been featured in Taproot.

Larissa is the author of the books Knitalong and My Grandmother’s Knitting. Her designs can also be seen in Jane Austen Knits, Knit Edge, and at Knitty.com. Her most recent book is Beautiful Wreck, a time travel Viking love story.

Mystery Crochet Along Designer: Kat Strieby

Kat StriebyKat is an artistic dilettante, being involved in a number of crafts/media at any one time. She’s been obsessed with cross-stitch, photography, fractals, drawing, and building houses in The Sims and Minecraft. Interests come and go, and come and go again. But for the last few years, she has been pretty serious about knitting and crochet, designing her own projects, writing patterns and sharing them with fellow enthusiasts.

Kat loves her job as a Photoshop professional for a calendar company and lives in the ‘burbs of Portland with her beautiful husband and three beautiful cats. Other than crafty & arty pursuits, she likes video games, reading (sci fi, fantasy, horror, Jane Austen), traveling, movies, and chocolate.
