2027 Mystery Alongs

Each year we prepare for the Rose City Yarn Crawl with two mystery alongs - one knit and one crochet. This year, pre-sales start and pre-clue information is released October 14, 2026. The mysteries begin in January 13, 2027 and wrap up in time for you to wear your finished garment on the Crawl! Pre-sales begin Wednesday October 14th, 2026. You can purchase your pre-clue on Ravelry for the Mystery Knit Along (KAL) and the Mystery Crochet Along (CAL).

Special Early Bird Clue! Purchase your patterns between October 14th and 21st, 2026, and in addition to your preclude, you will also receive an early bird clue allowing you to get a jump on making your Mystery Alongs! This year the KAL will be a shawl and the CAL will be a wrap.

  • Mystery Knit Along

    The MKAL is available for purchase beginning October 14, 2026 on Ravelry. First Clue will be released January 13, 2027.

    Zoom Meetups with the designer will be Wednesday January 13th and February 17th, both at 7pm. Registration required and available with purchase of pattern.

  • Mystery Crochet Along

    The MCAL is available for purchase beginning October 14, 2026 on Ravelry. First Clue will be released January 13, 2027.

Briana Arlene Knit Along Designer:

We are excited to announce our Designer for the 2027 Mystery Knit Along!

Briana Arlene creates modern hand knitting patterns inspired by the landscapes of the American West. She's known for clear, size-inclusive instructions and designs rooted in slow craft and thoughtful construction.

Briana grew up in Virginia's Appalachian foothills, where making was a way of life. What began as a childhood spark has grown into a knitting design business rooted in resourcefulness and intention. She designs patterns that welcome stash yarn, minimize waste, and help knitters make the most of what they have. When she's not knitting, she's rock climbing and exploring the mountainous and desert landscapes of the West. She lives in Colorado with her adventure cat, Jade. 

Becka Denning Crochet Along Designer:

We are also thrilled to announce our Designer for the 2027 Mystery Crochet Along!

Becka is the founder of Radiant Beans, which started as a custom fiber art business focused primarily on crochet pieces. She has worked to perfect her craft for the past 19+ years, and has hundreds of happy customers wearing her pieces and displaying her work.

Becka has been the host of multiple crochet classes in Portland, OR, Vancouver, WA , and Flock Fiber Fest over the last 4 years. She is very passionate about making her students feel comfortable and meeting them where they are in their fiber journey. She strives to make learning a new skill fun and engaging. A resident of Vancouver, WA Becka divides her time between Radiant Beans, gardening, baking bread and taking care of her two sons- the Beans.

2025’s theme, Our Sky Full of Stars, inspired designer Mikah Rae to design this stunning shawl which embodies the feel of the stars.

The wrap encompasses two contrasting colors with carefully selected stitches and patterns to highlight 2025’s theme. The night sky is such a rich source of inspiration with all its contrasts and intricate beauty and this shawl is truly able to mirror that.
